Jazz Meets Jive
Kenny Ball’s recent entry into the UK album top ten has led to even more interest for the “Jazz Meets Jive” theatre tour.
The tour, with Kenny’s band and the Jive Aces together, kicked off on 24th November in Eastbourne, and continues until June 2010, taking in theatres all over the country.
Just confirmed are dates at the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage and Civic Theatre, Chelmsford.

Also, Kenny Ball and the Jive Aces were recently in the studio to record some tracks together. The first to be released is a seasonal single written by Kenny, “Happy, Happy Christmas”, which is on Pickwick and out on 7th December.
On Tour |
The last three months have been a blur of shows around the UK and Europe. These included many festivals such as the Montauban Jazz Festival in France, playing to hundreds in an ancient castle; Bruges where the Jive Aces headlined the Radio Modern stage at the annual city festival, Norway for the band’s sixth year at Silda Jazz Festival; Edinburgh Festival with a weeks run at the Hilton featuring Toni Elizabeth Prima and featured as “pick of the fringe”; Cork Jazz Festival and a 3 day run at the spectacular Goodwood Revival weekend. |

| We also played their first shows in Russia last mont two concerts in Moscow: a theatre packed with 700 fans and a gig for swing and jive dancers at the famous B2 Club. The band had an amazing reception at both shows and more tours are being planned for next year. | ||
EMI Compilation
And speaking of releases, our friends from the Radio Modern team in Belgium have just compiled a new triple album for EMI Belgium entitled, “ABC of Swing, Bop n Roll” The album features the best of swinging music old and new, including of course The Jive Aces. And the CD booklet also features a stunning shot of Vince, mid-air, doing his boogie piano showstopper! Details of the album can be found at www.radiomodern.be.
