Pete and Ian both became part of various musical line-ups which eventually became the Jive Aces. Pete learned the art of swing drumming playing along to the records of Count Basie and Duke Ellington. His all-time favourite musician and entertainer is Louis Armstrong who he will talk about for hours given the chance.

His style of swing drumming is unique and drives the band along like a steam-powered locomotive.
